

The Taikido-Jitsu Fighting System taught at the American Academy of Martial Arts blends together the striking, throws, pins, chokes, and joint locks from Taijutsu, Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, and Jiu-Jitsu, and utilizes techniques from Wrestling, Boxing, Judo, and Muay Thai. The combination of styles make this martial art one of the most unique and diversified fighting systems in the world.
Hall of Fame Master Instructors Julie and Ron Elrod have been teaching Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) since 1984. They are direct students of Masaaki Hatsumi, the Grandmaster of Budo Taijutsu. In addition to developing the Taikido-Jitsu Fighting System, Julie and Ron Elrod hold multi-degree black belts in four martial art styles, including 9th and 8th degree black belts in Taijutsu and Ninjutsu. In 2008, the Elrods were inducted into the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Our 5,000 square foot state of the art facility is the largest Martial Arts school in Howard County and one of the largest in the country.
